The Annual Sports Day was held on 2nd February’19 with great exuberance and fervor. The meet was declared open by Principal, Mrs. D. Kaur who encouraged the students to exhibit their skills in the various fields of sports and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship. The chief guest was MrHarendra Singh, Dronacharya Awardee and former chief coach of Indian National SeniorHockey team.The Chief guest and the parents were extended a warm welcome by the Principal. The day comprised of various sports events in which the students of class I to XI participated.The events began with the inter house March Past by the senior students. The contingents were judged by the chief guest.He took the salute and addressed the gathering to inspire the young Khaitanians to achieve their dreams.TKS students presented ‘Yogaswara’ a calming and spiritual show. It was a fine display of yoga asanas by our students to the rhythm of shlokas. It was followed by athletic events of senior students.Theevent was carried forward by Class I and IIstudentswho presented the drill ‘Aerobic Hungama’ – dance and aerobic movements performed to energizing music. The sports achievers of TKS who brought laurels to the school were felicitated by the chief guest. Next was ‘Foot & Fist’– a Taekwondo display by students of class I- VIIIwhichhad the guests holding their breath as they watched the daring stunts performed by students. Fun races like, Ice Cream race, Ball and Saucer race, Bean Bag Balance race and Hurdle race for the students of class I & II were also conducted.The audience was enthralledby the beautiful presentation of Hoola Hoops in ‘Fitness Fiesta’ by the students of classes IV-V. The parents felt rejuvenated and refreshed after participating in ‘Flip the Cone race’ and ‘Toss and catch race’. The day couldn’t have been more exciting as the students of IX-XI participated in 4×400 m Relay Race and brought the cheer back among the crowd.The finale was, ‘Rang RangeelaDeshHamara’ by the students of class VI-VIIIwhodanced in their vibrant costumes blanketing the school ground with a riot of colours. The best March past contingent trophy was won by Shiwlik House. Varnit Singh of XI A&Devastha of IX E were declared Best athlete boy and girl. Sankalp Arya of VII G &Siya Singh of VIII D were adjudged Best athlete junior boy & girl and Pranav Chopra of VF &MehrChowdhary of VB were awarded the Best athlete trophy in Sub Junior category. Headmistress Mrs. SeemaKhurana, proposed the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the school fraternity. The students and the valued gathering came together for the National Anthem.
