The Annual Sports Day was held on 3rd February’18 with great gaiety and fervor. The meet was declared open by the Chief Guest, Mr Romeo James, Former Indian Olympian field Hockey player & Dhyan Chand Awardee. The Chief guest and the parents were extended a warm welcome by the Principal Mrs.D.Kaur. She encouraged the students to exhibit their skills in various fields of sports and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.The events began with the inter house March Past by the senior students. The contingents were judged by Dr. (Mrs.) Bimla Pawar, Lecturer Physical Education, Delhi University and Ms. Amita Joshi, HOD Sports, DAV Sarla Chopra School, Noida.The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and inspired the young Khaitanians to achieve their dreams. TKS students presented ‘Yoga Ritmica’ a calming and spiritual show and it was a fine display of yoga asanas to the rhythm of shlokas. Students of classes IV and V presented the drill ‘Zumba-la-fitness’ in which dance and aerobic movements were performed to energizing music. The Jackie Chans of TKS ie. students of classes I-VIII presented their act ‘ stretching out to perfection’ – a Taekwondo display. The audience was enthralled by the students of classes I-II participating in fun races like ‘Pick and Place race’, ‘Agility race’, ‘Zig zag race’ and ‘Crawl to win race’. The event was carried forward by the students of classes I and II , who presented ‘Uttarayan-Festival Of Earth’. Students of TKS danced in their vibrant costumes and colourful kites blanketing the school ground with a riot of colours . The enthusiastic parents participated in ‘Parents Balancing the Bag Race’ and ‘Hoop and pass race’. The day couldn’t have been more exciting as the students of IX-XI participated in 4×400 m Relay Race and brought the cheer back among the crowd. The finale was ‘Nav Chetna’ a display of vibrant Indian culture and ethnicity by the dynamic class VI-VIII students. The prize winners were felicitated by the Chief guest in a grand prize distribution ceremony. The best march past contingent trophy was won by Aravali House. Utkarsh Chandra & Sanskriti Jain were declared best athlete senior boy and girl, Shaurya Bhargava & Dev Astha were adjudged best athlete junior boy and girl and Hersh Behl & Riddhi Arora were awarded best athlete trophy in the Sub Junior category. The overall house trophy was given to Meghalaya House.Headmistress, Mrs. Seema Khurana proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the school fraternity. The students and the valued gathering came together for the National Anthem.
