Annual Sports Day 2016-17

The Annual Sports Day was held on 4th Feb’17 with great zeal and exhilaration. The meet was declared open by the chief guest, Mr. Murali Kartik, renowned Indian cricketer. The Chief guest, Education Director Mrs.S.L.Gupta and the parents were extended warm welcome by the Principal, Mrs. D. Kaur. She encouraged the students to exhibit their skills in the various fields of sports and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.
The events began with the inter house March Past by the senior students, ‘The trophy for the best contingent went to Shiwalik house. Nimisha Srivastava and Aryan Sharma were declared Best Athlete Sub Junior Girls and Boys respectively. In the Junior Category Kabeer Khan and Priyanka Doley were judged the Best Athlete Boys and Girls respectively. In the senior category Abhay Singh Dalpatia and Somya Bansal were judged the Best Athlete Boys and Girls respectively. The overall trophy for the best house was bagged by Aravali House.
The chief guest former cricketer Mr. Murali Kartik addressed the gathering to inspire the young Khaitanians to achieve their dreams.  TKS students presented ‘Yogakriti’ a calming and spiritual show. Athletic events followed the yoga display. Class I and II students presented the drill ‘Kolour Kaleidoscope’ emoting happiness and joy through colourful and creative ‘kathputlis’. The Jackie Chans of TKS ie, students of classes I-VIII presented their act ‘ stretching out to perfection’ – a Taekwondo display. The audience was enthralled by the students of classes I-II participating in fun races like ‘Roll the ball race’, ‘Hurdle race’, ‘Flip the cones races’ and ‘Cross the tunnel race’. The event was carried forward by the students of classes III-V, who presented ‘Hum Honge Kamyaab’ – a beautiful amalgamation of fire and water. Their colourful and vibrant costumes merged together to exhibit the co-existence of the two elements. The enthusiastic parents participated in ‘Parents Balancing race and Find the treasure race’. The day couldn’t have been more exciting as the students of IX-XI participated in 4×400 m Relay Race and brought the cheer back among the crowd. The finale was ‘Aasman tak jayenge, Tiranga lehrayenge’ a display of vibrant Indian culture and ethnicity by the dynamic class VI-VIII students. The prize winners were felicitated by the Chief guest in a grand prize distribution ceremony. Headmistress, Mrs. Seema Khurana presented the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the school fraternity.
