Saluting the Indian Tri-color

‘De salami is Tirange ko

Jisse teri shaan hai

Sar hamesha uncha rakhna iska

Jab tak dil mein jaan hai’

The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and show in The Khaitan School. The Tri Colour flag was hoisted  by Principal Mrs D Kaur followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. Students of class I recited the poem ‘Jawano Desh Par Sankat’. Sanjana of class 10  presented a talk on the achievements and progress made by India in these seventy years. To enhance the patriotic fervor, Varnit of class 10 recited the poem on these lines ‘Kashmir se Rameshvaram tak aach nahi aane denge ‘. The senior choir presented  ’Tumhe vatan pukarta, utho vatan ke nojawano ‘ a clarion call  for  ‘Creating a newer and cleaner India by 2022. Under the aegies of DIOS and Swachh Bharat Mission  a debate and a  essay writing  were held on the topic ‘ Freedom from Open Defecation ‘. Kite flying and a football match were also organized and students were awarded with books / prizes for their achievements. The students of junior school presented a dance on ‘ Vande Mataram ‘. Principal addressed the children and administered the ‘New India Pledge’   to build a Clean India, Poverty free India, Corruption free India, Terrorism free India, Communalism free India and Casteism free India by 2022.
