The Khaitan School felicitated the middle wing scholars at a solemn ceremony held in the school premises on 25 th August 2017. Chief guests Mr. Sk Srivastava , Ex chairman and Managing Director of Oil India Ltd., Ex Director General, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons Govt. of India and Ar. J.K. Jain, Chairman & Managing Director DASNAC graced the occasion by their benign presence. The function started with the traditional lighting of the lamp accompanied by chanting of shlokas. A splendidly choreographed classical contempory fusion dance “Itihaas banana hai” prepared under the able guidance of Muisc and Dance HOD Mrs. Manju Wazir and dance teacher Mr. Prateek Guharoy captivated the hearts of the audience. A melliflous and motivating group song “Purane din Purane Pal Purane Khwaab “ was sung by the school choir trained under the able guidance of Mrs Ruba Munshi.
Mr. S.K. Srivastava in his address stressed on the fact that education was the key to everything, be it peace, economic stability, good health, respect for other faiths or harmony among different communities. He believed that teachers play an important role in shaping children’s character. To reiterate his point, he quoted the words of Aristotle “We must honour those who educate the humans more than who produce them”. He wanted students to make a dream and then realize their dreams. Ar. J.K Jain congratulated the achievers and specially motivated and encouraged those who were low achievers and asked them to channelize their talent in other extra-curricular activities. He believed that throughout life we keep on collecting and earning, it’s now time to give back to the society, otherwise nature will take it back forcefully. He urged the students to believe in the philosophy of ‘turning problems into opportunities’. He quoted Rabindranath Tagore’s words to end his address “For achieving success have knowledge, and concentrate on purifying our body and soul”.
Welcoming the distinguished guests and proud parents Principal, Mrs. D. Kaur urged the students to take their social responsibilities seriously. When one celebrates the success of hardwork of the students which is the result of the synergy among parents, teachers and students and at the same time one must also spare a thought for those who could not achieve any accolades. She quoted Swami Vivekanands words “”Arise, Awake and stop not until the goal is achieved”. She motivated the students to be all rounders, to manage time, be grounded and be always humble as humility is the core of our existence.
Director Education, Mrs. S.L Gupta, showered her blessings and good wishes on the scholars and thanked their parents for their consistent support to help the school shape the future citizens of India.Mrs. Monika Mathur, Middle School Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
