The Khaitan School, Noida formulated ‘The Energy Club’ on Oct.16, 2017 as part of UP saves energy under the aegis of UPNEDA, for sensitizing the students about the energy saving techniques and making energy conservation a way of life.
To spread awareness, primary and senior school students participated in a painting competition on Oct.10, 2017. An essay writing competition will also be conducted shortly, with energy conservation as its theme.
The Energy Club students conducted a detailed survey of the school premises on Oct.17, 2017 to identify the points where energy can be saved. Amongst other activities such as identifying the star rating of the appliances being used, the electrical panel rooms were checked for insulation and connections under the supervision of the project coordinator Mrs.Reena Kumar and the Electrical Supervisor.
The club made suggestions for energy conservation which could be practically implemented.
Principal, Mrs. D. Kaur appreciated the efforts and welcomed the suggestions given by the students, adding her own valuable inputs to the same. She motivated the team to continue with the good work.
In continuation with the conservation of energy initiative, the Energy Club of The Khaitan School widened their activities with zest & zeal.
A special assembly was conducted on October 25, 2017 for the students and the Energy Pledge was administered by the energy club members in the assembly to the student body to further strengthen their resolve to save energy. A special talk was given by a member of the Energy Club to motivate the students to follow certain basic and simple rules to save and conserve energy.
Under the able guidance of science teachers the members of the club are presently working on a project pertaining to biodegradation of plastic by aerobic microorganisms, to conserve resources and produce fuel.
Further on, in the upcoming School Exhibition on November 18, 2017, members of the club will sensitize the parents on energy conservation.
