The Khaitan School, Noida celebrated 73rd Independence Day of our great nation with patriotic fervour and zeal at 8.30 AM on 15 August 2019 in the school premises and It was witnessed by the students, staff and parents. As a prelude to this, the Senior and Primary wings presented cultural programmes on 13th & 14th August respectively.
Principal Mrs. D. Kaur hoisted the National Flag amid the rendition of the National Anthem. Students from the Senior Wing had a fancy dress competition in which they presented freedom fighters and martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sarojini Naidu, Rani Laxmi Bai etc. Sarbjot Singh, Divija Kashyap and Kayra were declared the first, second and third best dressed candidates respectively. A nukkad natak depicting the freedom fighters and the challenges that lay ahead of our nation was also presented by the Primary Wing. Kushagra Rajput of V B and Ira Kumar of III E were adjudged the best actors, male and female, respectively. Mrs. Meenu Sharma, HOD Hindi, read out the Chief Minister’s message on Independence Day and also administered oaths to the fathers and mothers for equal treatment of girl vis-à-vis boy child. Principal Mrs. D. Kaur in her message urged the audience to be better citizens by wholeheartedly putting in their best efforts in whatever they did. She implored everyone to remember the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters, soldiers and leaders for the freedom of the country and exhorted everyone to respect diversity that was the hallmark of our country. A tree plantation drive by the principal, students, teachers and parents was held on this occasion to commemorate the day with a message for environmental conservation.
