PHILATELY WORKSHOP

A workshop on Philately was conducted on 9th October 2018 in the school by Department of Post, Government of India. 81 students of class VI and VII who were interested in Philately attended the workshop. The aim of the workshop was to make students familiar with the hobby of philately which is popularly known as ‘King of Hobbies and Hobby of Kings’. Sr. Supdtt of post office, Ghaziabad Sh. Ram Naresh Sikaria (IPS) was present on the occasion with his team from the postal deptt. A My Stamp sheet bearing the photograph of Principal Mrs. D. Kaur was presented to her by Sh Ram Naresh as a token of regard. The speaker, Mr Kumar Biswas, Energy Philatelist, started the session with a brief history of stamps. In his power point presentation, he discussed origin of word Philately, parts of a stamp, miniature sheets and how to do stamp collection. The session ended with a quiz on the topic and enthusiastic students won various prizes. It was a great learning experience for the students.
