ROAD SAFETY PROGRAMME

Students of class IX addressed the senior assembly (Class-VI to XI) on December 30, 2016 and created awareness on road safety and causes of accidents. Various safety measures that one must ensure to reach one’s destinations safely were also elaborated. Students were made aware of various traffic symbols through posters and enactment of hand signs used by traffic police. A road safety pledge was taken by everyone present in the assembly.

The students also addressed the school bus drivers and sensitized them about safe driving and prevention of road accidents.

The road safety programme was done in continuity to a special awareness campaign conducted by Toyota India Ltd. and Noida Traffic Police for classes V-IX on November 10, 2016. It was developed with the objective of empowering students with the right knowledge, skills and attitude to shape them into responsible citizens. Various topics like need for traffic rules, road etiquettes, road safety bill and vehicular pollution were discussed with the students. The traffic policemen also addressed the students and shared their experiences related to underage driving, use of ear phones, precautions at unmanned railway crossing, etc. Many interactive and fun activities were employed using age appropriate tools to create awareness among students.
