A Visit to Teen Murti Bhawan

On 18th December, 2018(Tuesday), the students of class 5 were filled with enthusiasm and excitement on their educational excursion visit to the Teen Murti Bhawan.

On reaching the destination at around 10:30 a.m., the students were given a warm welcome by the volunteer guides of the monument. The students got settled and were briefed about the history related to the making of the Teen Murti Bhawan, which was initially the home of India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, and how it got converted into a museum. The students were then taken for a stroll around the museum and were made aware of the significance of all the pictures, statues, writings and other historical objects present in the building. They  witnessed the various phases of life of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru beginning from his birth, childhood, adolescence, as a barrister, an active participant in India’s freedom struggle and finally becoming the first prime Minister of free India-through various photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, books, his living area, office area etc. The contribution of Gandhiji in the freedom struggle was also highlighted prominently. The museum also contains mementos from various other nations.

This experience proved to be enjoyable as well as informative for the students. They got to know a lot about their rich past which they will cherish forever.
