of 185 students of class VI visited the Qutub Complex as part of Heritage Walk
in collaboration with Itihaas. The walk included the Iron Pillar of Delhi, Alai
Darwaza, Quwwat – ul-Islam mosque, the Tomb of Iltutmish and many more Tombs.
The study tour connected the students to their part and rich heritage in a
creative and interactive manner. The students learnt that in 1200CE,Qutub –Ud
–Din Aibak, the founder of the Delhi Sultanate started construction of the
Qutub Minar. It was overall an enriching and enjoyable experience for all the
students which will remain imprinted in their memories for years to come.
HERITAGE TRIP TO RED FORT
the path of experiential learning, 133 students of Class 7 from The Khaitan
School visited Qila-e-Mubarak, Red Fort in Delhi on 13th December
2018. This informative and enlightening heritage walk was effectively organized
by the ITIHAAS educational trust. Red fort, a magnanimous monument was built by
Shah Jahan as one of the many grand Mughal structures in Shahajahanabad, a city
founded by Shah Jahan himself. Students got an opportunity to explore and
discover new facts about various Mughal buildings inside the fort – Lahori Gate,
Dilli Gate, Sawan Bhado Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam , Diwan-e-Khas, Shahi Hamam , Moti
Mazjid etc. they also came across many terms and concepts associated with these
structures( like Moth, hamam, nakaari etc.) that helped them understand the Mughal era and
culture better.This educational trip was intended to inculcate and arouse
interest in young minds about the city’s valuable cultural heritage. The Itihaas
facilitators kept the students involved in the trip through sharing of interesting
facts about Shah Jahan in general and the fort complex in particular. Students
found the trip extremely informative, enjoyable and enriching .
HERITAGE TRIP TO1857 REVOLT SITES AND ELECTION MUSEUM
The Khaitan School organised an educational trip in collaboration with Itihaas on 14th December 2018 for class VIII.A total of 145 students participated in this educational trip.The heritage walk to 1857 Revolt site(Kashmiri Gate)provided an insight into various cases and impact of “The First War of Independence “.Students also visited the election museum that helped them understand and appreciate the processes and events that led to the creation of the largest democracy in the world.Overall,the Itihaas Heritage trip was a great learning experience for the students.
