Summer camp is a time-honored tradition that brings joy and excitement to children all over the world. It offers a unique opportunity for kids to explore new things, learn valuable skills, and create lasting memories. The Khaitan School recently organized a summer camp for students from Class I to V, and it proved to be an incredible experience for all involved.
The summer camp, which took place from 22nd May to 26th May 2023, aimed to keep the students engaged and provide them with a platform to express their creativity. The organizers meticulously planned a wide range of activities in two categories: Creative and Health & Well-being. The children had the freedom to choose one activity that aligned with their interests.
The camp witnessed a remarkable turnout, with over 450 children eagerly participating in the carefully curated activities. The options included Basketball, Yoga & Meditation, Self-Defence, Paper Mache, Reader’s Nook, Music Mania, Skilful Hands, and Fun Games. Each activity was designed to engage and challenge the students, ensuring they had a well-rounded experience.
In the Fun Games category, the children were actively involved in various exciting games such as tunnel game, frog race, lemon and spoon, and fire and mountain. These games not only entertained the participants but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition among them.
The Self-Defence activity focused on equipping the students with basic martial arts techniques. They learned punches and hand grip escape techniques, empowering them with valuable self-defense skills and boosting their self-confidence.
The Music Mania activity catered to the musically inclined students. They received vocal exercises to improve their pitch and melodic tongue twisters to enhance their enunciation and diction, particularly when pronouncing consonants. The highlight of this activity was the song piece “This Little Guiding Light of Mine,” which the students worked on diligently, showcasing their musical talents.
Skilful Hands provided the students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic flair. They built a wonderful lamp and clock, allowing their creativity to shine through their adept craftsmanship. This activity not only honed their artistic skills but also instilled a sense of pride and accomplishment in their creations.
The summer camp was an amalgamation of learning and fun, striking the perfect balance to keep the children engaged and enthralled throughout. The enthusiastic participation of the students in their chosen activities showcased their eagerness to explore and learn. Furthermore, the camp provided a platform for emotional bonding and the development of team spirit among the students.
