As the curtains draw on another academic year, The Khaitan School recently hosted its much-awaited farewell function on the 20th of January 2024, Saturday. The event marked a poignant moment as the school community came together to bid adieu to its present Class XII batch of 2023-24, celebrating their journey, achievements, and memories.
The evening commenced with a heartfelt address by the esteemed Principal, Mr. Sajeev Philip. With a blend of nostalgia and optimism, Mr. Philip shared anecdotes of life-changing experiences, urging the departing students to embrace challenges with a resilient “never give up” attitude. His words resonated deeply, setting the tone for an evening filled with reflection and celebration.
Adding grace and elegance to the occasion, Officiating Head of Senior School, Ms. Anjana Vashishtha, graced the gathering, highlighting the significance of this transition in the students’ lives. Her presence symbolized the school’s commitment to nurturing not just academic excellence but also holistic growth and character development.
The farewell function unfolded as a cultural extravaganza, brimming with pomp and music. Class XI students, eager to create lasting memories, presented scintillating dance performances, leaving an indelible mark on their departing seniors.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Farewell Contest, showcasing the talents and contributions of the Class XII students. Self-nominated candidates shared their remarkable journey and experiences, vying for coveted titles. The rigorous selection process, including rounds such as ‘Just a Minute’ and Q&A sessions, culminated in the announcement of deserving winners.
Among the accolades, Mr. TKS and Ms. TKS titles were awarded to Utkarsh Singh and Vidushi Bannerjee, respectively, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the school community. Devashnabh Hazarika and Tripti Dewan were honored with the titles of Mr. Personality and Ms. Personality, reflecting their exemplary character and leadership qualities.
In a heartwarming gesture, Kshitij Srivastava and Ridhima Gupta were hailed as Mr. Congeniality and Ms. Congeniality, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill among their peers. The titles, bestowed by their juniors, served as a testament to their popularity and affable nature.
The judging panel, comprising Head of ECCE Ms. Neeta Mohla and Head of Special Education Ms. Kuheli Chhatterjee, lauded the participants for their wit and poise throughout the contest. Principal Mr. Sajeev Philip and Officiating Head of Senior School Ms. Anjana Vashishtha presented the winners with sashes and gifts, honoring their achievements.
Amidst the celebrations, students of Class XI and XII came together to revel in the joyous atmosphere, dancing to the beats of a DJ. The evening culminated in a mouthwatering feast, savored by students and teachers alike, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fellowship.
