A Cancer awareness workshop was conducted by Cancer aid society in The Khaitan School for classes 3 to 5 on 3rd September 2019 in the school auditorium. It was presented by Mr Ankit Tripathi.
The workshop espoused the idea of healthy kids and a happy family. Attainment of 17 goals to sustainable development was put across to the children. Amongst them were no poverty, good quality of education, gender equality etc.
Tips to lead a healthy life by following a healthy diet and lifestyle were stressed upon. The fact that cancer is basically a lifestyle disease was revealed to the students and they were given valuable advice on the do’s and don’ts to prevent this disease.
Some of the relevant suggestions given were to maintain a healthy and nutritious diet and avoid junk food, to go for vaccinations, drink plenty of water and take 7 to 8 hours of sleep everyday. It was an interactive and enriching experience for the students.
