Celebrating a Legacy of Humility and Solidarity: The 29th Founder’s Day

The Khaitan School, Noida, recently basked in the glow of tradition and celebration as it marked the 29th Founder’s Day on April 10, 2024, within the hallowed halls of the School Auditorium. This auspicious occasion not only honored the extraordinary life of the school’s founder, Shri GN Khaitan, affectionately known as Babuji, but also commemorated what would have been his 101st birth anniversary. The event was graced by the presence of the venerable Mr. Gangesh Khaitan, the Chairman of the School, whose humility and grace added an extra layer of significance to the proceedings.

Students from both the Senior and Middle Wings poured their hearts into the event, infusing it with their energy and enthusiasm. The ceremony commenced with a soul-stirring rendition of the prayer “Sangachhadam” by the School Choir during the lamp-lighting ceremony. Joining the Chairman were esteemed figures including the C.E.O Col. Jaisheel Kaushal, Principal Mr. Sajeev Phillip, and various heads of departments, all symbolically lighting the ceremonious lamp, signifying the enlightenment brought forth by Babuji’s vision.

The celebration continued with a showcase of talent and dedication as students presented musical renditions and dance performances that echoed the spirit of unity and reverence for Babuji’s legacy. The melodious harmony of “Hum Hain Khaitanian” and the poignant lyrics of John Lennon’s “Imagine” resonated deeply, a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering not only academic excellence but also empathy and understanding.

Under the expert guidance of the Performing Arts faculties, Ms. Ruba Munshi and Mr. Joshua Peter, students brought to life the essence of Babuji’s teachings through their performances. Indian Classical Dance students, mentored by Ms. Manju Wazir, captivated the audience with a beautiful depiction of “Gurur Brahma Gurur Devo…”, paying homage to Babuji’s reverence for knowledge and spirituality.

However, the true highlight of the event was the heartfelt address by Mr. Gangesh Khaitan, who shared poignant memories and inspiring anecdotes of his mother and Babuji. Through his words, he emphasized the invaluable lesson of “loving oneself”, a principle instilled in him by his mother during his formative years. Mr. Khaitan’s reflections on his parents’ exemplary lives, their unwavering dedication to serving humanity, and their relentless pursuit of creating a better world left an indelible mark on the audience, serving as a guiding light for generations to come.

As the echoes of celebration fade and the candles extinguish, the spirit of Babuji lives on in the hearts and minds of every Khaitanian. The Founder’s Day celebration not only honored a remarkable individual but also reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing not just academic excellence, but also compassion, humility, and solidarity. In commemorating Babuji’s legacy, The Khaitan School continues to inspire its students to strive for greatness, guided by the timeless principles of love, service, and integrity.
