The Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation in which students take on the roles of delegates representing various countries and debate pressing global issues. It provides a platform for students to enhance their diplomatic skills, public speaking abilities, and critical thinking. On 6th and 7th July 2023, twenty-eight enthusiastic students from The Khaitan School, Noida, participated in a two-day MUN event organized by Somerville International School. Under the guidance of dedicated teachers, Ms. Anjali Bhardwaj and Mr. Gaurav Chandra, and with the unwavering support of Ms. Geetanjali Sharma (HOD Social Science), the students were well-prepared and eager to make their mark.

In order to excel at the MUN event, the students of The Khaitan School underwent thorough preparation and extensive research work. Ms. Anjali Bhardwaj and Mr. Gaurav Chandra, the teacher incharges of the event, played a pivotal role in guiding the students. They provided valuable insights into the structure and workings of the United Nations, taught negotiation techniques, and helped students understand the complexities of international affairs.
Moreover, Ms. Geetanjali Sharma, the Head of the Social Science Department, extended her unwavering support to the students throughout the preparation phase.

The MUN event hosted by Somerville International School brought together students from various schools, creating a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment. The Khaitan School students exhibited their knowledge, eloquence, and diplomacy as they engaged in intense debates, negotiated resolutions, and advocated for their assigned countries’ interests.

The two-day event was structured around committee sessions, each addressing specific global challenges such as climate change, human rights, and peacekeeping. The Khaitan School delegates actively participated in committee discussions, showcasing their ability to collaborate, think critically, and offer innovative solutions. They navigated complex political landscapes, voiced their opinions articulately, and engaged in diplomatic negotiations to build consensus.

The students from The Khaitan School not only displayed exceptional debate skills but also demonstrated a profound understanding of international relations and global issues.
