In a remarkable display of intellect, diplomacy, and collaboration, thirty-two students from The Khaitan School, Noida, recently showcased their talents at a prestigious Model United Nations (MUN) event hosted by GD Goenka Global School, Noida. The event, held over the course of two days on August 21st and 22nd, 2023, saw these young minds engage in intense debates, negotiations, and problem-solving, highlighting their commitment to global issues and diplomacy.
The success of the Khaitan School’s participants in this MUN event is a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded and informed individuals. Under the guidance of Mr. Shashank Shekhar, the teacher in charge of the event, and with the unwavering support of Ms. Geetanjali Sharma, Head of the Social Science Department, the students were excellently prepared to take on the challenges of the MUN.

Mr. Shashank Shekhar’s leadership was pivotal in creating an environment conducive to learning, critical thinking, and teamwork. His mentorship allowed the students to delve into the complexities of global affairs, develop a deep understanding of their assigned countries’ positions, and sharpen their public speaking and negotiation skills. His dedication to their growth was evident in the way the students confidently presented their viewpoints and collaborated with peers from other schools.
Ms. Geetanjali Sharma, as the Head of the Social Science Department, played a pivotal role in providing the students with a strong foundation in relevant topics and issues. Her academic expertise and unwavering support empowered the students to conduct thorough research and form well-substantiated arguments. Ms. Sharma’s involvement underscored the school’s commitment to ensuring that students receive comprehensive guidance, both inside and outside the classroom.
The participation of The Khaitan School in the MUN event was a culmination of months of hard work, research, and practice. The students undertook extensive research on diverse topics ranging from climate change and human rights to international security and economic development. This rigorous preparation equipped them to confidently engage in debates, defend their country’s stance, and collaboratively draft resolutions to address global challenges.
The two-day MUN event at GD Goenka Global School was an arena for intellectual sparring and diplomacy. The Khaitan School’s students, equipped with their research, guidance, and preparation, eloquently presented their arguments, negotiated with fellow delegates, and navigated the complexities of international relations. The event not only provided them with a platform to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios but also allowed them to cultivate critical life skills such as effective communication, empathy, and consensus-building.
