The Khaitan School, Noida conducted an online Orientation for the parents of the Class IX students, on 2nd April, 2021. The session was conducted by the Head of Senior School and an expert panel of teachers, with the able guidance of the Principal, Mrs Rina Singh.
The event commenced on an auspicious note, with a Ganesh Vandana.
The Head of Senior School, Mr Sajeev Philip, covered the latest updates on the School Policy, Timetable and Assessment Criteria. He apprised the parents of the ongoing changes which will be implemented in the Secondary School Curriculum, prescribed in the National Education Policy 2020. He mentioned how CBSE is upscaling our education system to match the global trends by cultivating a ritual of experiential learning, through an application-based curriculum. He stressed on the necessity of inculcating co-curricular activities in the school curriculum to ensure the holistic development of students. He highlighted the importance of integrating Art in education, as recommended by the NCF 2005 and mentioned that this integration helps students develop “21st century skills” like creative thinking & problem-solving abilities.
Mr. Amit Mendiratta, our School Counselor shed light on the important life skills that ensure resilience and fortitude and spoke about the social & emotional shifts experienced by teenagers, especially over the last one academic year. He drew attention to the various aspects of the Psychosocial Development of the adolescents.
The event ended with a Q&A session between the parents and the panelists. The parents expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the school management and teachers, and wholeheartedly applauded the manner in which they successfully navigated this difficult pandemic situation.
