The Khaitan School Noida was abuzz with colours of different hues on a bright sunny morning of 22nd January 2020 when Creative Canvas – 2020 an ‘Inter School On the Spot Painting Competition’ was held. Creativity on canvas, clouds of colours and brushes at their best were the moods set on the campus. Around 600 students from different schools of Delhi and NCR region showcased their dexterity in the various categories of On the Spot Painting, Cartoon Making, Origami, Mask Making, Canvas Painting, Greeting Card, Photography, Face Painting, Doodling, Dry Flower Arrangement, Best Out of waste and Sculpture Competition. In an endeavor to make this as an inclusive event, 3 categories were added on for students with special needs. Special emphasis was on the topics of unity, peace, Fit India, Clean ‘n’ Green India and Mahatma Gandhi’s150th Birth Anniversary amongst others suiting the age and category of the participant.
Principal Mrs D. Kaur, in her address, welcomed the dignitaries, the guest schools and the budding artists and said that the idea behind this event was to give a perfect platform to the budding artists to showcase their talent.
Mr Abhishek Sharma, Campus Director Pearl Academy, inaugurated the competition and gave away the Rolling Trophy of Creative Canvas 2019 to Bal Bharti Public School, Noida. The host team had bagged maximum points but as the host team doesn’t keep the Rolling Trophy, it was presented to the First Runners Up. The dignitaries thereafter declared the meet open.
The panel of judges included artists Ms. Neeti Bhatia, Mr.Amarjeet Maggu, Mr Adarsh Anurag and former students of The Khaitan School, Ms Navni Verma and Ms.Shourya.Navni and Shourya displayed the magic of their fingers on the canvas which was appreciated by one and all.
The President of Rotary Club, Rtn. Ram Grovher, Mrs Sharmila Grover and the team of distinguished Rotarians graced the occasion and were overwhelmed seeing the expanse & precision of the whole layout and promised their support in future as well.
Education Director, Mrs S.L. Gupta, Principal Mrs D. Kaur, Maj. Dalbir Singh, Dir. Young Generation Rotary club Noida and the esteemed judges gave away the trophies to the winners of the various categories. They showered their blessing on the young artists and was happy to see the enthusiasm on the faces of the participants while receiving their trophies. Mrs. Bindu Gupta and Mrs Vandana Datta, teacher coordinators, were appreciated for the preparations and the success of the event.
