On 25th June 2021, Friday, The Khaitan School bade farewell to its Class XII batch of 2020-2021 with an extravagant farewell ceremony that was organised on an online platform by the collaborative efforts of the faculty and students. The long awaited ceremony commenced at 5:00 pm with the comperes Jaiaditya Mathur, Sanika Singh and Anandita Sethi of Class XII welcoming the esteemed guests, followed by Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rina Singh addressing the outgoing batch and congratulating them.
The event was kickstarted by a stirring and melodious music performance that was put forth by Kankana Talukdar, a student of Class XII, after which the outgoing batch was presented with a special memento in the form of an artfully assembled video compilation of all their fond school memories which was compiled by Nandini Braj Singh, a proficient tech expert student of Class XII.
The event was enlivened by a witty standup comedy act performed by Abhishek Tiwari, yet another talented student of Class XII. A phenomenal dance segment- ‘Ramp Romp’ choreographed by a skillful group of Class XII students followed suit and delighted the guests with its perfect blend of elegant classical dance and exuberant bollywood beats.
The stage was set for the much anticipated Title Contest, wherein the outgoing batch of students were to compete for four titles: ‘Mr. & Ms. TKS’, ‘Mr. & Ms. Personality’, ‘Mr. & Ms. Congeniality’ along with ‘Best Dressed’. The Semi Final round consisted of the comperes asking all the contenders around 20 thought provoking questions, and was followed by another vivacious dance performance ‘Ramp Romp- Part II’ performed by a nifty group of Class XII students, that amped up the already cheerful atmosphere.
An ‘Open House discussion session’ was held thereafter, wherein the students expressed their gratitude towards their mentors and the proud teachers in return wished their students best of luck for their future endeavours. A power-packed round of the Titles Contest followed the session and the finalists were asked intriguing questions centred around a variety of topics like pros and cons of technology, internet and social media, persevering through life’s challenges etc. by Pooja Singh Ma’am, Priyanka Nagi Ma’am and Shailaja Ma’am. The Best Dressed Competition was a new category that we started with this year wherein we received pictures of students donning their best outfit they chose to wear for the day. We received 44 entries from the students that were judged by Ms. Anjana Vashishtha and Ms. Monika Mathur based on their poise, confidence and creativity in outfit.
While the results were being deliberated upon, the mic. was handed over to the outgoing Head Boy, Abhimanyu Narayanan and the outgoing Head Girl, Simone Singh to share their experience in TKS, and what their thoughts were on the last day of school. The heartfelt speeches were followed by another enchanting music performance presented by Ishita Srivastava and Disha Khati of Class XII.
The event concluded with the announcement of results for the Titles Contest. The coveted titles of ‘Mr. & Ms. TKS’ were bagged by Abhimanyu Narayanan and Vanshika Tyagi respectively. The titles of ‘Mr. & Ms. Personality’ went to Rajdeep Mookherjee and Tanishka Khatter and titles of ‘Mr. & Ms. Congeniality’, which were determined by conducting a voting survey among the current batch of XII graders, were won by Disha Desai and Sparsh Bhatt.
