Inter House Music & Dance Competition Showcases Exceptional Talent

 

The Khaitan School recently organized an exhilarating Inter House Music & Dance Competition on May 16th and 17th, 2023. The event featured a wide range of performances, including classical music, western dance, folk songs, and a rock band competition. The competition was open to students from grades IX to XII, providing them with a platform to showcase their remarkable talents and pay tribute to our rich culture and traditions.

 

With an incredible display of enthusiasm and zeal, students from different houses participated wholeheartedly in the competition. The event was graced by esteemed judges who brought their expertise to evaluate the performances. Ms. Sushmita Ganguly and Mr. Arun Pandey judged the classical and western dance competitions, while Ms. Smita Sharma and Ms. Swati Chaterjee presided over the folk song competition. The rock band performances were evaluated by Mr. Joel and Ms. Andrea. The participants were assessed on various criteria, including rhythmic accuracy, melody, vocals, coordination, expression, and the purity of form.

 

In the Indian classical dance category, Shiwalik House secured the first prize, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication. Meghalaya House followed closely behind, earning the second position, while Nilgiri House claimed the third position and Aravali House secured the fourth position.

Moving on to the western dance competition, Aravali House stole the limelight and bagged the first position, leaving the audience mesmerized with their impeccable moves. Shiwalik House and Meghalaya House were awarded the second and third positions, respectively, for their captivating performances. Nilgiri House also impressed the judges and earned the third position.

 

The folk song competition witnessed soul-stirring performances, with Nilgiri House claiming the first position, exhibiting their deep connection to traditional music. Meghalaya House and Shiwalik House shared the second position, enchanting the audience with their melodious renditions. Aravali House secured the third position with their heartfelt performance.

The highly anticipated rock band competition saw an electrifying atmosphere as the talented bands took the stage. Shiwalik House outshined the competition and emerged victorious, securing the first position with their captivating performance. Nilgiri House secured the second position, while Aravali House claimed the third position. Meghalaya House demonstrated their passion for music and secured the fourth position.

The competition also acknowledged individual talents, with Swara Mishra from grade XII awarded the title of the best female singer for her outstanding solo performance. Hardik Khanna from grade IX received the well-deserved recognition as the best male singer for his exceptional vocal abilities.

The Inter House Music & Dance Competition at The Khaitan School was not only a celebration of talent but also a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing and encouraging students in the field of performing arts. The event provided a platform for students to explore their passion, express themselves creatively, and foster a sense of camaraderie among the participants.
