The International Day of Workers or International Labour Day is observed on May 1 each year to honor workers and laborers worldwide. It originated from the labor union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, and is widely known as May Day. This day encourages workers to recognize their rights and celebrates their contributions to society. Many countries, including India, Cuba, and China, observe this day. By commemorating International Labour Day, students can acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and dedication of laborers and the working class.

This year, the students at The Khaitan School celebrated Labour Day with great enthusiasm. Students participated in classroom activities that involved creating and presenting greeting cards to the school’s helping staff. These activities aimed to promote awareness, respect, and appreciation for the history and culture of workers. Moreover, these activities provided an opportunity for students to enhance their creativity and fine motor skills. By honoring the contributions of workers and promoting their rights, the school encouraged students to commemorate this important day while acknowledging the efforts of the helping staff.
