“A parent is a teacher at home, a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the center of our universe.”
On Saturday, March 25, 2023, an orientation programme for the Nursery class was held for parents. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp after the principal, Ms. Rina Singh, apprised the parents about the school’s legacy through a video, its value system, and the safety and security measures it has implemented. The principal emphasised that TKS is a pioneer school that has been using the NEP 2020 for the past two years. The school’s vision is to develop lifelong learners with strong moral principles—students who will grow into good human beings.
The HOJS, Ms. Seema Khurana, and the Pre-Primary Coordinator, Ms. Ritu Agarwal, gave a presentation to parents about the key aspects of the school, including its infrastructure, pedagogy, pre-primary curriculum, and other programmes and guidelines.
Ms. Pooja Ahuja, the junior school counsellor, gave the parents advice on how to help their children acclimatise to school in the initial school days as well as some helpful parenting advice.
The teachers of the respective classes then asked the parents to enter the classrooms where they provided an overview of the various subjects, teaching methodologies, an example of their child’s day at school, and general instructions.
The teachers engaged in various cooperative activities with the parents in the classrooms and spent some time getting to know the parents.
It was the first step in establishing a lasting relationship between the teaching community and the parents.
