The cultural program for 73rd Independence Day of India was organised by the students of Classes III-V on 14th August 2019. A special assembly was conducted by Meghalaya House to commemorate the occasion. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The assembly commenced with the prayer followed by a beautiful thought by Swarnima and Anishka of class II-C. Om Sharma of class V A updated the students with news followed by a soulful poem by the students of class I and ll. The assembly was carried forward with the melodious choir presenting a patriotic songs. Patriotic fervor and spirit was ignited by singing of patriotic song and recitation of a poem by students of classes I & II. A street play was staged which highlighted some important social issues .The students actively participated in it and showed great enthusiasm and creativity to convey their message to the audience. A mesmerizing classical dance performance by students in graceful outfits was also presented on the concept of taking care of the trees and our environment. The Principal, Mrs. D.Kaur graced the occasion and gave the message of maintaining cleanliness and becoming responsible citizens. She also applauded the performance of the students and urged them to do their best and always feel proud of being Indians. The program came to an end with the rendition of the National Anthem.
