A storytelling session was organized for the students of class III on 24th April, 2019 in the school auditorium. The resource person for the session was Ms. Simi Srivastava, a passionate storyteller, performing artist, soft skills trainer and founder of the Kathashala Institute. She has been diligently working for years to create master story tellers. She has transcended the stereotypical ways of reading stories from the books through her workshops on Integrated Skills such as puppetry, clay modelling etc. The students listened to her with rapt attention as she created magic through her words, used props, voice modulations and sung songs. Their multiple intelligences were engaged as they participated in the session, sung songs and used abstract bodily movements. She narrated and enacted stories in Hindi and English about a miser and a witch respectively. It was an enjoyable and enriching session for students as well as the teachers.
