The 46th UP State Shooting Championship held at the prestigious Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Tughlabad, New Delhi, witnessed an outstanding display of talent and determination from young shooters across the state. Among the participants were the aspiring shooters from The Khaitan School, who left an indelible mark on the competition with their exceptional performances.
The championship took place from 18th July to 26th July 2023 and saw a gathering of some of the most promising young talents in shooting sports. Two students from The Khaitan School participated in the event, competing in different categories, and achieved remarkable success, making their school proud.
Jinesh Jain, a talented 8th-grade student, showcased his skills in the 10mtr Air Pistol event in the Sub Youth Category. With sheer precision and focus, he secured an impressive score of 325 out of 400. This outstanding performance allowed him to qualify for the Pre National Shooting Competition. It is worth mentioning that the qualifying score for this esteemed competition was 315 out of 400, making Jinesh’s achievement all the more commendable.
Gurnoor Singh, also in 8th grade, displayed remarkable proficiency in the 10mtr Air Rifle Peep Sight event in the Sub Youth Category. With unwavering determination, he scored an impressive 361 out of 400, a score that not only qualified him for the Pre National Shooting Competition but also surpassed the qualifying score of 325 out of 400 required in the Air Rifle category. Gurnoor’s exceptional performance highlighted his potential as a rising star in the sport.
The success of Jinesh Jain and Gurnoor Singh at the 46th UP State Shooting Championship is a testament to the dedication and hard work they put into honing their shooting skills under the guidance of their coach, Deepak Tomar.
