The Khaitan School, known for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, recently participated in an exhilarating Inter-School Competition hosted by Lotus Valley International School, GBN, Noida. The event, which took place on the 20th of July, 2023, brought together students from various schools to showcase their talents in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through a series of engaging and challenging activities.
Amongst the plethora of events held during the competition, one of the highlights was the “STEM Treasure Hunt.” This innovative event aimed to provide an immersive STEM experience to the participants and foster their problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. The treasure hunt featured a diverse range of activities that encompassed multiple dimensions of STEM education.

From solving challenging STEM riddles that tested their logical reasoning and scientific knowledge to tackling IT coding challenges with Python, the participants had the opportunity to exhibit their programming prowess. They were tasked with mastering digital design using GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program), which allowed them to showcase their creativity and graphical skills.
The students were further challenged to demonstrate their expertise in 3D CG Design using Google SketchUp, a popular software tool in architecture and design industries. This segment allowed them to explore their imagination and transform their ideas into tangible 3D creations.
The competition also delved into the world of motion graphics, where the participants had to present their ideas and messages using PowerPoint presentations. This tested their communication skills and ability to deliver impactful content through multimedia presentations.

Adding an element of excitement to the treasure hunt, the participants had to decipher cryptic puzzles and games on Android Tablets, which required quick thinking and adaptability. Additionally, they navigated popular fiction and obstacle-course challenges, testing their comprehension and agility.
The culmination of the event was an enthralling race to the finish, where the participants embarked on a true quest for treasure, symbolizing their dedication to unraveling the secrets of STEM. The students of The Khaitan School showcased exceptional teamwork, perseverance, and determination throughout the competition.
Guided by the able mentorship of Ms. Anjana Vashishtha, the Head of the Computer Science Department, the team of students from The Khaitan School emerged as the champions of the “STEM Treasure Hunt” event. Their commitment to excellence and passion for STEM subjects set them apart, and their achievement is a testament to the school’s focus on nurturing talent and fostering a spirit of healthy competition.
