On April 29th every year, the world celebrates International Dance Day to honor the beautiful and expressive art form that is dance. Maya Angelou once said, “Everything in the universe has a rhythm. Everything dances.” And indeed, dance is the hidden language of the soul, the most fundamental and relevant form of expression.
In celebration of this day, the Middle Wing of Khaitan School organized a Kathak workshop on April 26th conducted by Ms. Manju Wazir. They also held an Inter-House Classical and Contemporary Dance Competition on April 28th, 2023. The day marks the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet.
Dance is a way to express human emotions without words. The workshop and competition aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of dance and bring everyone together. Students enthusiastically participated in the workshop and competed in two categories of dance forms: Classical and Western Dance. They presented their artistic skills and left the audience amazed.
The winners of the competition were announced, and certificates of merit and participation were presented to all the students. The HOMS encouraged and appreciated all the participants for their effort and performance.
