The Khaitan School witnessed a vibrant celebration of democracy and leadership through the Student Cabinet Elections for the academic session 2025–26, conducted in a meticulously planned and transparent manner. The multi-stage electoral process aimed not only to ensure a fair selection of student leaders but also to cultivate a deep understanding of responsibility, public service, and civic engagement among the student body.

The journey to leadership began with students submitting applications via a Google Form, accompanied by a portfolio showcasing their achievements and contributions to school life. This initial submission helped establish the candidates’ credibility and readiness to shoulder leadership roles.

The first phase of the selection process unfolded on 3rd and 7th July 2025, with candidates submitting position papers that outlined their understanding of school-related issues and their proposed solutions. These papers were assessed by a faculty committee on the parameters of clarity of vision, feasibility of action, and alignment with the students’ interests. The most compelling submissions advanced to the next round.

The panel interview stage, conducted on 9th and 10th July, was a rigorous test of the candidates’ leadership aptitude, communication skills, and critical thinking. The interview board included key faculty members such as Ms. Rachna Bhasin (HOD English), Ms. Geetanjali Sharma (HOD Social Science), Ms. Maneesha Singh (HOD Science), Ms. Rashmi Mehta (Form Head Class XII), Ms. Surbhi Chaudhary (Form Head Class XI), Ms. Saloni Chaturvedi (Inter-House Incharge), Mr. Kamal Bhandari (Sports Department), Ms. Nidhi Bindra, and Ms. Areeba Sundus (Student Cabinet Co-Incharges), along with the respective House Wardens.
Interviews for the prestigious posts of President and Vice President were conducted by the school’s leadership team comprising Principal Mr. Sajeev P. Paruvanani, Head of Senior School Ms. Anjana Vashishtha, and Student Cabinet Incharge Ms. Shifa Nizami.

After the interviews, shortlisted candidates moved into the most engaging phase of the elections—campaigning, held from 14th to 16th July. Through impassioned speeches, dialogues, and Q&A sessions, candidates connected with their peers, articulating their vision for the school. A major highlight was the Presidential Debate held on 16th July on the motion: “Leadership is a matter of perspective”, which drew enthusiastic participation and sparked insightful discussions.
On 17th July, the school observed a mandatory silence period, providing students time to reflect on the candidates’ visions before casting their votes. The polling on 18th July 2025 was conducted with precision—polling booths were arranged in classrooms, ensuring a smooth and confidential voting experience. The entire electoral process was overseen by a dedicated election committee to maintain transparency and uphold democratic values. Ballot counting and result verification were carried out with due diligence.
