The students of Primary Wing of The Khaitan School, Noida hosted the grand event of ‘Performing Arts Festival’ on 14th December in the school main ground. The students showcased their learnings and talents through various forms of musical performances, instrumental orchestra, dance recreations and drama improvisations. The occasion was graced by the CEO, Principal, Head of Primary School, Coordinators, parents and teachers.
As all great events begin with the blessings of the almighty, at the outset of the Arts Festival, the school dignitaries proceeded with auspicious lighting of the lamp along with the rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the choir.
The anchors of the programme introduced the theme to the audience- ‘Khwaishon ka Safar’. It is true that dreams are powerful. They can shape our lives, guide our decisions, and fuel our passion. Fulfilling them, however, is a journey that often involves more than just wishing or hoping. It requires perseverance, persistence, and overcoming obstacles. All the performances were a corroboration to classroom learning, showcasing and relating the theme to the unwavering efforts of people to fulfil their dreams.
The event commenced with the drama which presented the story of a boy, Sanket, who aspired to be a dancer and choreographer. As he embarked on the journey of learning various dance forms, he faced many obstacles and challenges. As years passed by, Sanket kept working towards his dream with utmost determination.
In the unique segment, the Instrumental Orchestra presented the renowned Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter with the accompaniment of a variety of instruments and little dancers gracing the dais with their pleasing dance performance. Some children played guitar, while a few took the charge of tabla and congo. Many other children took charge of the Keyboard, Xylophone and harmonium. The euphonious performance was spellbinding and left the audience mesmerized.
This was followed by the ‘Motivational Song’ wherein the little singers sang the symphonic song, ‘Har Subah hai Nayi’. The choir’s performance was a treat to the ears and the audience was spellbound to have witnessed something so magical.
The event took an interactive turn with a Kathak performance by the classical dancers. From facial expressions to body movements to the vibrant and beautiful costumes, everything was stupendous. The dance group put on the performance with utmost grace and confidence.
Next, the western vocal choir beautifully sang the song ‘Believer’. The song was refreshing and captivating and the way the little singers presented themselves was commendable. As the Western Music choir made an exit, the Indian Music choir took the spotlight presenting the ‘Swar Geet’ – Tarana. The children were boosted with confidence that they had a complete hold on the musical tones and rhythms.
After years of diligence and commitment to his dream, Sanket finally participated in a dance competition.
As a part of this dance competition, children performed various dance acts – Zumba, Western Dance and Bhangra. This competition culminated with a performance by Sanket. His energy and enthusiasm were applauded by all when he was announced as the winner of the dance competition.
This dance and drama improvisation was a testament to Sanket’s hard work for fulfilling his dream. This journey indeed demanded perseverance, effort and endurance.
Lastly, all the participants rose up to the dais for the Grand Finale performance. The dignitaries and parents applauded the participants for their outstanding showcase.
The students’ enthusiastic engagement was a testimony to their dedication and determination to make the Performing Arts Festival a huge success.
