One of the most dynamic and engaging ways of learning is through meaningful dialogue. With this in mind, the Science Department of The Khaitan School hosted an exciting Science Symposium – “Science Talk” in the school’s AV Room on 18th November 2024. This thought-provoking event aimed to inspire a love for science while fostering critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry among students.
The symposium began with an introduction emphasizing the significance of scientific exploration and inquiry as tools for solving real-world problems and advancing humanity.

Twelve students from Classes VI to VIII, representing each house—Meghalaya, Nilgiri, Aravali, and Shiwalik—shared their insights on a variety of relevant and challenging scientific topics:
Class VI: Green transportation – An alternative to reduce carbon emissions.
Class VII: Significance of colonization of Mars.
Class VIII: Ethics of gene editing and genetic manipulation.
Each participant showcased remarkable preparation, creativity, and depth of knowledge, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm in the audience.

The event concluded with an inspiring address by the Head of Middle School, Mr. Sachin Sharma, and the esteemed judge, Ms. Mamta Priyadarshni, who praised the participants for their confidence and scientific understanding. They also encouraged students in the audience to step forward and explore the world of science through such platforms.
The winners of the symposium were:
Class VI: Divyaveer – Shiwalik House
Class VII: Parv – Shiwalik House
Class VIII: Kyra Khanna – Meghalaya House

The event was a resounding success, inspiring students to pursue their scientific interests and motivating many in the audience to participate in future symposiums.
