Author’s Workshop by Ms. Shobha Tharoor

 

An enriching Author’s Workshop was conducted in The Khaitan School on 17 July 2025 featuring the celebrated author and voiceover artist Ms. Shobha Tharoor. Known for her deep engagement with children’s literature, Ms. Tharoor captivated the audience with her insightful talk centered around her three acclaimed books — Prince with a Paintbrush, Timeless Tales, and Look Before You Reap.

 

The session began with Ms. Tharoor taking the audience on a journey through her childhood. Having lived across continents — in the United States, India, and among a wider global diaspora — she shared how her multi-cultural experiences have shaped her worldview and writing. Her exposure to the vibrant cultures of Delhi, the US, and the diasporic Malayalam community deeply influenced her storytelling, making her identify as a global citizen.

Ms. Tharoor read select passages from her books, demonstrating her exceptional storytelling skills, not just as an author but also as an artist. Her belief in fostering empathy, understanding, and empowerment through stories resonated strongly with the audience.
