To foster stronger collaboration between home and school, The Khaitan School recently hosted an engaging and informative Jolly Phonics Workshop for parents. The session was designed to offer a deeper understanding of how phonics is introduced and implemented in the early years, providing clarity on the school’s teaching methodology and empowering parents to support their child’s literacy journey at home.
The workshop opened with a warm welcome, followed by a series of interactive activities that showcased the creative, hands-on learning approach followed in classrooms.
Weave a Story – In this group activity, parents tapped into their imagination and explored how phonics and storytelling come together in the classroom to build not just language skills but also creativity and confidence.
Letter Formation Practice – Parents were introduced to the multisensory techniques used at school to make letter learning fun and effective. From tactile methods to movement-based cues, they experienced firsthand how young learners engage with sounds and symbols.
The session concluded with a Q&A segment, which turned into a lively and constructive discussion. Parents shared their queries, concerns, and suggestions, and received practical guidance on how to reinforce phonics learning at home in a playful, pressure-free way.
By opening doors to its teaching practices, The Khaitan School reaffirmed its belief in transparent communication and active parental involvement. The Jolly Phonics Workshop not only strengthened the home-school partnership but also reassured parents that their children are on a joyful and effective path to early literacy.
