“Bully to Buddy” Workshop: Promoting Empathy and Inclusion

On 22nd May 2025, The Khaitan School, Noida, organized a powerful and thought-provoking workshop titled “Bully to Buddy” for the students of Class IX. The session was conducted by Mr. Vaibhav Saxena, a distinguished psychologist from Fortis Healthcare, and aimed to create awareness about bullying while encouraging a culture of empathy, respect, and friendship among students.

Mr. Saxena began the session by introducing the students to the concept of bullying and its various forms—physical, verbal, emotional, and cyberbullying. He emphasized the long-term psychological impacts that bullying can have on individuals and used real-life scenarios, storytelling, and interactive discussions to help students recognize what bullying looks like in everyday situations.

What made the session particularly impactful was its interactive nature. Students were not just passive listeners—they were encouraged to reflect on their own behavior and attitudes. Through this reflection, they discovered how small gestures of kindness, inclusiveness, and support can create a positive and safe school environment.

Mr. Saxena also focused on the role of bystanders, explaining how they can be powerful change-makers. Instead of remaining silent, students were taught how to intervene safely, report concerns, and offer emotional support to peers who may be experiencing bullying.

The workshop also addressed common challenges faced by teenagers, such as peer pressure, low self-confidence, and relationship dynamics, and provided practical strategies to navigate them mindfully. These tools empowered students to take proactive steps toward building healthy, respectful, and trusting relationships with their peers.

The session concluded with an open Q&A segment, where students eagerly shared their thoughts, asked questions, and received personalized guidance from Mr. Saxena. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the relevance and resonance of the topic.
