As India prepares to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, the spirit of patriotism is palpable across the nation. In keeping with this patriotic fervor, The Khaitan School, Noida, organized a special assembly on August 13, 2024, for students of Class III to V. The event aimed to instill a sense of national pride and responsibility among the young learners. Teachers and students of the primary wing came together to make this occasion memorable.

Quoting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, “Every citizen of India must remember that he is an Indian and he has every right in this country but with certain duties,” the assembly set the tone for a day dedicated to understanding the significance of Independence Day. The objectives of the assembly were clear:

 

  1. To imbibe a feeling of patriotism among the learners.

  2. To develop a sense of belonging and mold students into extraordinary citizens.

  3. To spread awareness about India’s progress and growth across different sectors.

A Glimpse of the Celebration

 

The assembly commenced with a heartfelt prayer, “Humko Mann ki Shakti Dena,” invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the nation’s progress and prosperity. This soulful beginning set a reflective tone for the celebration.

Following the prayer, students from Grades III to V performed a thought-provoking skit that addressed gender stereotypes and the inequalities that still persist in society. This performance was a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggles for equality and justice, resonating deeply with both students and teachers alike.

The atmosphere was further uplifted by a choir of students who sang a patriotic song, instilling a profound sense of pride and unity among the audience. The beautiful rendition of the song was followed by an energetic dance performance on “Aarambh Hai Prachand,” which filled the room with enthusiasm and courage, symbolizing the resolve to fight for righteousness and justice.

The assembly concluded with an inspiring address by Ms. Shalini Kapoor, Head of Primary School (HOPS). She expressed her gratitude to all the participants for their outstanding performances and emphasized the importance of being patriotic and integrated citizens for the development of the nation. Ms. Kapoor also highlighted the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, educating the students on the correct way to fold and preserve the national flag for future use.

The special assembly not only commemorated India’s hard-won freedom but also reinforced the values of unity, responsibility, and national pride among the young students of The Khaitan School.
