From 22nd July 2024 to 25th July 2024, The Khaitan School (TKS) celebrated Shiksha Saptah, a week dedicated to commemorating the 4th anniversary of the launch of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This special week provided an opportunity to reflect on the transformative reforms introduced in NEP 2020, celebrating the advancements and improvements in education that the policy has brought about.
Day 1: Teaching-Learning Material Day (Monday, 22nd July)
The week kicked off with Teaching-Learning Material Day. Teachers showcased various innovative learning materials designed to enhance the teaching process and improve student learning outcomes. The displays included interactive tools, visual aids, and hands-on materials that demonstrated effective teaching strategies. This day highlighted the importance of using diverse resources to cater to different learning styles and needs, ensuring a more inclusive and effective educational environment.
Day 2: Foundation Literacy and Numeracy Day (Tuesday, 23rd July)
The focus shifted to essential skills on Foundation Literacy and Numeracy Day. Activities centered around reading, writing, and basic mathematics, emphasizing the foundational skills critical for students’ academic success. To engage parents and underscore the day’s importance, a film was shared, illustrating the significance of these basic skills in their children’s education. This initiative aimed to foster a collaborative effort between the school and parents in nurturing students’ literacy and numeracy.
Day 3: Sports Day (Wednesday, 24th July)
In alignment with NEP 2020’s promotion of sports in school education, Sports Day was a vibrant celebration of physical and mental fitness. A plethora of fun indoor and outdoor activities were organized, encouraging students to participate actively. The day underscored the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between academics and physical activities, promoting overall well-being. Students enjoyed various sports, games, and fitness challenges, experiencing firsthand the benefits of an active lifestyle.
Day 4: Cultural Day (Thursday, 25th July)
Shiksha Saptah concluded with Cultural Day, a celebration of unity and diversity through cultural activities. Teachers organized a captivating puppet show, which entertained the children while imparting the valuable message, “Unity is Strength.” The performance highlighted the importance of working together and appreciating diverse perspectives, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity among students.
Overall, Shiksha Saptah at The Khaitan School was a resounding success. Each day was thoughtfully designed to reflect the key aspects of NEP 2020, providing students, teachers, and parents with valuable insights and experiences.
