On August 24th, 2024, The Khaitan School hosted a highly insightful workshop on Effective Parenting, led by renowned counseling expert Ms. Prachi Srivastava. The workshop focused on the evolving dynamics of parenting in today’s world, highlighting the crucial roles of empathy, active listening, and positive reinforcement in raising emotionally healthy and resilient children.
Ms. Srivastava introduced the concept of “conscious parenting,” which emphasizes mindfulness, intentionality, and deep connection in the parent-child relationship. She provided parents with practical strategies for effective communication, positive discipline, and nurturing emotional intelligence. The interactive nature of the session allowed parents to engage actively, ask questions, and share their own experiences, fostering a supportive community among participants.
The workshop was a resounding success, leaving parents with valuable insights and a renewed commitment to nurturing their children’s emotional well-being. Attendees expressed appreciation for the practical advice and the opportunity to connect with other parents facing similar challenges.
In conjunction with the workshop, The Khaitan School also held a comprehensive Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) for classes VI to VIII. This conference facilitated constructive discussions on students’ academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being. Parents and teachers collaborated to set goals and develop strategies to support each student’s growth, emphasizing the importance of partnership in education.
Simultaneously, a vibrant stall exhibition showcased the talents of students participating in the Hunar Programme. The exhibition featured a wide range of student creations, including culinary delights, eco-friendly products, artistic works, and displays celebrating cultural heritage. A dedicated book stall promoted the love of reading, while the event also supported the school’s Community Outreach Programme, with funds raised going to those in need.
The day’s events highlighted The Khaitan School’s commitment to educational excellence, community service, and the importance of collaboration between parents, teachers, and students. The combination of the Effective Parenting Workshop, PTC, and the Hunar exhibition provided a holistic approach to fostering the academic, emotional, and creative development of students, while also building a strong and engaged school community.
