The Middle Wing of The Khaitan School came alive with colour, creativity, and imagination as students celebrated World Art Day through a week-long series of engaging visual art activities. Spread over eight enriching days, the event aimed to foster artistic expression, cultivate creativity, and deepen students’ appreciation for the visual arts.
The celebration provided students with a joyful platform to explore and showcase their artistic talents through a variety of hands-on experiences, ranging from painting and sculpture to collaborative installations. Each grade brought its unique interpretation to the theme, celebrating the power of art across different forms and techniques.
Grade VI students took inspiration from Piet Mondrian’s geometric compositions, diving into the Geometry of Colours. Their two-dimensional explorations were further extended into the third dimension as they applied the coil technique to craft functional and colourful pen stands—a beautiful blend of utility and creativity.
In Grade VII, painting students embraced the Semi-Abstract Art style, reimagining iconic portraits and masterpieces through bold colours and imaginative interpretations. Meanwhile, pottery students showcased their dexterity and patience with terracotta coiled earthenware, each piece reflecting traditional charm and personal creativity.
Grade VIII students focused on the artistic principle of positive and negative space, crafting striking still life compositions that demonstrated both technical skill and thoughtful design. Their efforts culminated in a collaborative project—mosaic murals—that stood as a testament to teamwork, dedication, and artistic vision.
The event concluded with a curated exhibition of shortlisted student artworks, transforming the school into a vibrant gallery of student expression. The exhibition drew appreciation from students, teachers, and visitors alike. The school leadership commended the students for their efforts, creativity, and commitment to the spirit of art.
The World Art Day celebration at The Khaitan School proved to be more than just an art event—it was a memorable learning experience that integrated visual expression into everyday education. The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from all quarters highlighted the success of the initiative and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, creative thinkers of tomorrow.
