On 8th March 2025, the Mathematics Department of The Khaitan School took a commendable initiative to ease the academic shift from primary to middle school by organizing an interactive and informative session titled “Partnering for a Smooth Transition to Class 6”. The session was held in the school auditorium and was aimed at equipping parents with the right tools and knowledge to support their children in this crucial academic phase.
The primary objective of the event was to familiarize parents with the new mathematics curriculum, the evolving methods of teaching, expected learning outcomes, and engaging hands-on activities that form the core of middle school learning. By doing so, the department ensured that parents could actively participate in and support their child’s academic journey.
The session proved to be a resounding success. Parents participated enthusiastically, engaging in discussions and activities that deepened their understanding of the curriculum and effective teaching strategies. The hands-on activities, in particular, were a highlight—transforming complex mathematical concepts into enjoyable and tangible learning experiences. This interactive approach not only fostered greater involvement but also gave parents a clearer perspective on how mathematical thinking is nurtured in middle school.
The Mathematics Department reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and student success by fostering this partnership with parents. By aligning expectations and strategies, the session laid a strong foundation for a seamless transition to higher classes.
Overall, the workshop was fruitful, engaging, and well-received by all attendees. Parents expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the initiative, showing great enthusiasm and a renewed interest in the subject. The event stood as a testament to the school’s holistic approach to education and its unwavering support for students as they grow into confident, capable learners.
