The Khaitan School recently held a vibrant celebration of Mental Health Awareness, aimed at fostering understanding, reducing stigma, and promoting mental well-being among students and staff. This event featured a variety of engaging activities designed to involve the entire school community and provide valuable resources related to mental health.

For students in grades III to V, the celebration kicked off with a presentation focused on emotional well-being. This informative session emphasized the importance of mental health, equating its significance to that of physical health. To reinforce these concepts, students participated in card-making and note-writing activities, expressing gratitude toward their peers and teachers. This not only encouraged positive interactions but also helped instill the value of appreciation and emotional expression among younger students.

As the event progressed, students from classes IX to XII engaged in deeper discussions through a PowerPoint presentation that covered the definition and importance of mental health. They explored common mental health disorders and discussed building resilience in the face of challenges. The conversation also included coping strategies for managing difficult emotions, empowering students with tools to navigate their mental health effectively.

The celebration was not limited to students. A workshop for school staff members, conducted by our dedicated team of school counselors—Dr. Neha Dutt, Ms. Pooja Ahuja, and Ms. Priyanka Walia—focused on the theme of “Mental Health at the Workplace.” The aim of this workshop was to educate employees about the significance of mental well-being in their professional lives. Participants learned to recognize the signs of mental health issues and were encouraged to foster a supportive work environment for their colleagues.
