On September 27, 2024, the school auditorium buzzed with excitement as students from classes VI to VIII gathered for the much-anticipated inter-house Spell Bee competition. Starting promptly at 8 a.m. in the AV Room, the event highlighted the importance of spelling—a foundational skill crucial for effective writing.
The competition was expertly judged by Mr. Hassan Emam, a respected English teacher from the senior school. He brought a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the event, ensuring that the participants felt supported and encouraged. The morning kicked off with motivating addresses from Mr. Sachin Sharma, the Head of Middle School, and Preeti Gambhir Ma’am, both of whom inspired the contestants to give their best.
In preparation for the finals, students had to navigate two preliminary rounds. Round 1 took place in individual classes, where top scorers were shortlisted for the next stage. The remaining contestants then faced a rapid-fire round that determined who would make it to the finals.

Each of the four teams—named after synonyms for a group of bees: Colony, Brood, Hive, and Swarm—featured three participants representing their respective houses. The diverse challenges tested their spelling abilities across various contexts, ensuring that only the most skilled contestants advanced.
The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as the students showcased their spelling prowess. Remarkably, the sixth graders displayed exceptional focus and mastery of the language, impressing both judges and spectators alike. The results revealed that Nilgiri House from Meghalaya took the top spot, followed by Shiwalik in second, with Aravalli House securing fourth place.
